Christian schools and their silly rules

WA Today reports…

“A Perth mother is outraged her teenage son was told to leave school on Monday morning because his hair was “too short”.

Sandra told Radio 6PR she was forced to provide staff at Corpus Christi College in Bateman with a note from her Year 10 son’s barber to prove his hair cut was in line with the private school’s policy.

The boy was then allowed to return to school for the day, but was told he had to wear a hat and may not be allowed to attend his year’s end of year river cruise celebration on Monday night.

Sandra went to the school to query why he was being sent home after receiving a text from her son.

“We had a wedding on the weekend and he had his hair cut, so he’s got it cut short on the sides, and just a little bit long on the top,” she said.

“His hair’s not long, it’s not short, he hasn’t got a shaved head, he hasn’t got stripes or swirls cut on his head… it’s just a boy’s haircut.”

The school declined to comment to WAtoday but Sandra claimed a staff member told her her son’s hair was shorter than a ‘two’ on the sides, which was against school policy – but a barber’s note Sandra then went and arranged clarified his hair was cut to a ‘two’.

“I said [to the staff member], ‘You’ve got boys there with their hair looking like mop-heads and you allow them’, [the staff member said], ‘Oh no they’ve got their hair tied up’, I said, ‘No they don’t, I’ve been on canteen duty, I’ve seen them walk in and walk out they don’t have their hair tied up and you don’t send them home,” she said.

The school has since allowed the student to return to class to learn his exam results, but he has been told to wear a hat.

Today was his last day of school for 2016, with Sandra telling Radio 6PR he was excited to find out how he went in his exams.

“It’s not fair that he’s already missed one and a half period of school,” she said.

She is yet to hear whether her son will be allowed to attend Monday’s river cruise.”

  1. Well 2017 has gotten off to a great start. After 90,000 Christians killed in 2016 – and news on New Year’s Eve of Islamists killing 39 people in a Night club in Turkey, and Islamists in Nigeria using a 10yr old girl as a suicide bomber – Wazza desperately wants the world to know that he remembers a redneck getting shot by law enforcement in a land dispute, Bones starts frothing and swearing and having weird homosexual fantasies about two incredibly straight macho guys…..and groupsects? Well he’s probably looking for another story about a boy being sent home to get a haircut to prove how terrible Christians are.

    Another wacky year….

See you guys after the inauguration. (If Obama hasn’t gotten us all killed)

  2. Everyone who keeps up knows that one of the men with the Bundy’s who took over a nature reserve was killed.

So your point is that after a year where 90,000 Christians were killed, and the news was dominated by Muslim terrorists killing all over the world (latest in S Turkey where 39 were butchered), the real story is about Fox News not covering the Bundy brothers and their stand-off where one of their own was killed? When …. Fox did cover it?

    Seriously?

    Seriously?

I bet you’re outraged that schools don’t teach about the nazis that were beaten up by Jews in WW2.

Okay Wazza…..go tell ASIO to watch out for Christian terrorists.

  3. One person killed….

During the year 2016, some 90,000 Christians were killed for their faith around the world. Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. “Islamic ultra-fundamentalism” has taken its place as the number-one agent of persecution.
Nine out of the top ten countries where Christians suffer “extreme persecution” had populations that are at least 50 percent Muslim.
Islamic extremism is by far the most significant persecution engine.

Several Muslim countries still have laws punishing apostasy—converting from Islam to another religion. Between 500 and 600 million Christians were in some way persecuted and prevented from freely practicing their faith.

    One person killed…..

Who cares about Muslims driving lorries into Christmas crowds, bombs on subways, planes flown into buildings, or off-duty soldiers beheaded on the streets of England, Wazza has found some real dangerous guys!!!

Yes Sir – it’s radical Christian terrorism. Goats and ducks……

Okay, here is clear evidence for the typical unfactual insane nonsense that looney liberals like Wazza come out with.

It’s an epic failure. First. If he is talking about the Bundy family?? Is that it?
This was reported widely on Fox News, and all Murdoch sources. So, who needs Snopes? Just ask anyone who ever has read Fox or news sources own in part by the Murdochs.

Completely wrong, False. Unbelievably stupid because its so easily checked.

What it DOES prove is that Wazza doesn’t read any news like Fox or the many other newssites owned by Murdoch? Well that might explain a lot. What does he read? COmpletely left-wing news sites, or wacky anti-semitic sites like Bones?

As for Andrew Bolt – I know of him and know that in Australia he’s famous, but I don’t read him regularly.

I suggest Wazza read a little more widely. I’m a conservative. But I read the typical liberal sources.
That’s why I have a little sympathy for the gullible liberals here. I know what they get fed – so I often excuse their buffonery on ignorance.

As for this terrorist takeover? How many people did they kill Wazza? How many people did they behead, rape, torture, drive over, drown or burn alive? Are they operating in dozens of countries?

Epic failure Wazza. Next time you clutch at straws….no okay, go ahead and clutch. It’s fun watching you fall.

Go ahead Mr Wazza. Go and tell the leaders of the world and the families of those killed by Muslim terrorists that they should man up. It’s them Bundy Brothers who are the real threat to world peace…..

Okay, I have to go and rotfl.

    And they cry.

PS As far as I know the Bundy Brothers were acquited They are probably furthering their evil and dangerous terrorist activities by insisting on short haircuts for students in a homeschool?

    hmmmm Better investigate.

America is safe with Trump. The Anglican Church needs you!

Just don’t use MAGA (Make Anglicanism Great Again). Trump was accused of racism for that … lol

The Anglican chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons has suggested the Church of England could be institutionally racist because of the small numer of black or ethnic minority clergy in senior positions.

Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin was speaking out after the Church announced its first new black bishop in 20 years.

Currently, just over 3.4 per cent of all stipendiary clergy are black of ethnic minority (BME) and an even smaller proportion, 2.2 per cent of senior staff, are BME.

Besides the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, appointed in 2005, there are just five other senior BME clergy in the Church of England. They are the Dean of Manchester, Rogers Govender, Archdeacon of Southend Mina Smallman, Archdeacon of Barking John Perumbalath and Archdeacon of Hackney Liz Adekunle.

Wilfred Wood, appointed Britain’s first black bishop in 1985, retired in 2003. He was bishop of Croydon, also in the Southwark diocese. Pakistan-born Michael Nazir-Ali was Bishop of Rochester from 1994 to 2009.

Even though she is regarded as one of the country’s most senior clerics in terms of influence and status, Hudson-Wilkin is not included in these statistics because she is a chaplain, not a bishop, dean or archdeacon.

Hudson-Wilkin told the BBC’s new religious affairs correspondent Martin Bashir the only conclusion she could draw was that the Church has been institutionally racist.”

I hate private schools. And I hate the way the rich get richer and the poor get poorer – and this starts in childhood with schooling.

But having said that, there are private schools all over the world.
There are probably exclusive Jewish and Muslism schools with dress and dietary codes that I personally think are ridiculous.

But, schools, and companies, and organizations have rules. You don’t have to send them there.

Some people went to schools where teachers measured the length of skirts above the kneee. They laught about it now.

  19. Q –

Andrew Bolt called it correctly in his

“But what comfort is that if we’ve still let in enough radicals to make even Christmas shopping dangerous?

Our leaders must wake up to two things.

First, Islam is not like turn-the-cheek Christianity. It is a warrior faith created by a warrior prophet and spread by the sword. That is why Muslim terrorists can and do quote the Koran and sacred hadith to justify their attacks.

Second, when we import a people, we import a culture. We cannot now assume the even the children of immigrants now assimilate.

Take these latest Melbourne arrests: four of five people charged are Muslims born here.

Conclusion: we cannot protect ourselves from more jihadism unless we end this fiction that Islamic terrorism is not Islamic inspired”.

  20. Wazza,
I understand that. So what’s the solution.

Do you think if everyone in Israel left and resettled to Australia, and every “Christian” country said sorry for everything that has ever happened, and the US pulled out of Saudi Arabia, that Islamic terrorism would end?
    I don’t.

The North Koreans have a different world view also. I can intellectually understand it. But I think it’s insane. They justify kidnapping Japanese citizens and putting people in concentration camps.

    You have any solutions?

I have come to the conclusion that there is only one position to take.
Don’t appease at all. Let every Muslim in western countries know that they adjust to our cultures – e.g. They obey our laws re freedom of speech.
If they don’t like it they go back and live in a Muslim country.
Then completely – not half heartedly – show terrorists that hell will he unleashed on them in retaliation for their activities.

We aren’t dealing with people who reason like you.

People who blow people up in subways, and strap bombs on their kids can’t be reasoned with.

Middle eastern people only respect strength.

We can defeat this if we just act together and act in strength.

  22. Explorer Pants, – mate, i believe not in a God that has been reduced to a foreskin God – rather …

    “… in one God,
    the Father, the Almighty,
    maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

… in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
    the only Son of God,
    eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
    true God from true God,
    begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation
    he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
    and was made man.

    For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
    in accordance with the Scriptures;
    he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come”.

Who or what do you believe in? Yourself…? Magic…? Things coming from nothing into something due to the magical inmgredient of ‘a long period of time’?

My God seems a lot bigger, and a lot more personal and alot more loving than anything you can conjure up in the limits of your own mind.

You can mock all you want, but carefully consider who and what you are dealing with.
