But instead of explaining or apologising, he doubles down and says something more outrageous – he directs it all at another celebrity. It isn’t true of course, he’s said awful things about a lot of women, but it was extraordinarily effective. It’s like upending the chess-board , he doesnt play by the rules at all.
Of course, when you are playing chess with someone who tips over the chess board, the best thing to do is not to declare that he has won, not to laugh at their audaciousness. What you do is declare that if they need to resort to such tactics that they have automatically disqualified themselves from the game. But there was a sufficiently large group of people who cheered him on for his childish antics.
Trump appeals to the angry and greedy child in all of us, because he is essentially an angry, greedy child. But our challenge is not to be taken in by it all – seductive though it may be.

Not even God could have predicted that, or else it would violate free-will. Yet you claim you have done something that was impossible for Him.
So you had a 50% chance of being right and you won. Congrats! But it doesnt mean that Trump is a good President. Just cause you think you are a genius and you like Trump, it doesnt follow that Trump is a genius. I predict that the next president of North Korea will have a name starting with “Kim”. If I’m right it doesnt mean I’m a genius and it doesnt mean that he will be a good President.
So you can finish up with all the crowing now. Have a look at what Trump is actually doing – even he is surprised that running the world is harder than licencing your name on buildings and screwing small business-people.
